Concierto con Pilar

Ah miercoles, ah Wednesday. Today I thought I had my politics class at one, so I got up in time to take a nice run with Amber while the morning air was still cool. I wanted the run to go well, and my head was in the right place, but my body wouldn't follow suit. I had really bad shin splints for the first two miles, and then again for the final three. There were a few moments in the middle when my head and body were in harmony, but that's it. The pain didn't stop with the running, either; for the rest of the day, my left shin has been bothering me. I'm not sure why its only one side, but nonetheless, me duele. As much as it pains my brain, I think I need to take tomorrow off. I was hoping to run one more time before Morocco this weekend since I don't know exactly what training I'll be able to get in while traveling in a developing country.

Anyways, I ran before class, but when I showed up for class, everyone was leaving. Apparently the Preshco secretary, Eva, was supposed to email us saying that our professor was not going to be in today, but she forgot to tell us until five minutes before class started. Since I was already out of the house, I went to EL Corte Ingles and bought more food for my stash... ka-CHING! Another $50 on trail mix supplies, soy milk, peanut butter, nutella, and crackers. Ouch. It was nice to have the extra hour and a half though.

I did, however, have plenty of my Música class today. We had our normal class session, and we also went to a concert tonight at the Gran Teatro de Córdoba, a beautiful 19th century opera house in the heart of the city. Pilar wanted to apologize for being out for so long after her appendicitis, so she took us to dinner at a cute little café on the street before going to hear Beethoven's first and Dvorak's eighth symphonies. Since there are only four of us in the class, it was a really intimate evening, and I really enjoyed myself. Pilar is such a firecracker; I hope I can have such enthusiasm and rock a cream-colored pantsuit like her when I'm her age.

Tomorrow I actually have two full classes, geography and photography, and then our weekly guitar class. Aside from that and not running (tear, tear), I may go the the gym and do some cross training/non-impact exercise, and pack for Morocco! Nos vemos!
