The dogs ate my m&m's.... almost.

Kim and I were overjoyed to find a massive bag of m&m's hidden in the back of a kitchen cupboard last night. Needless to say, we opened the bag and enjoyed what we could stomach post-falafel in my room. This morning, however, when we went for a run, we came back to the house to find m&m's missing from the top of my dresser and all over my floor and a trail leading to the dog beds in the laundry room. Luna, the big dog who stands on her hind legs and opens doors, opened my door while we were out, and took our m&m's. My first thought was panic, since dogs can't have chocolate. However, upon closer observation and after picking the small candies out of Luna and Golfo's fur, they didn't eat any. Then came my second thought, which was just sheer anger. The dogs ruined a perfectly good back of m&m's by licking the sugar coating off the candies and leaving the chocolate inside. I'm glad they didn't eat the chocolate and that we found it before Maricarmen or Paki, but still. Angry! Kim and I are heartbroken that the candy is gone. The only place you can buy m&m's here is at El Corte Ingles, and since they're an imported product they're at least 4 or 5 Euro per bag.

On a somewhat related note, I wish Luna would stop opening doors. I'm sick of her opening the bathroom door while I'm showering and meandering in. Its creepy and awkward to get out of the shower and kick her out and attempt to modestly close the door to the main hallway of the house. And now that Luna also ruined the m&m's, I'm straight bitter. This is the house where privacy and American foods go to die.

Aside from the terrible loss of m&m's, today was a pretty low-key day. On my run this morning I stopped at the train station to buy train tickets to and from Madrid for when my mom is here next week, but apparently my debit card doesn't work at certain places in Spain. Unfortunately I don't have a Spanish bank account, so I'll have to go back tomorrow after going to an ATM and withdrawing a bunch of cash. Its not ideal that I have to make two trips to the station, but at least it was during my run today- not a complete loss.

Tonight I've been working on my final paper for Photography, and I've gotten about 5 pages written so far. My goal is to finish it tomorrow (all 10 pages) so that I can move on to the practical Photography project and my Politics final paper and presentation. I'd like to have most of my big projects done before my mom gets here so that they're not hanging over my head. I realize that she'll have work to grad school to do, but I want to make sure we have enough play time. Her time in Spain is limited! And, perhaps more importantly, the time until she arrives is limited!
